Parex Bond Plus Mortar
Parex Bond Plus Mortar is a Portland cement based, polymer- enriched adhesive for the priming and bonding of paving units. The highly specialised mix design includes powerful plasticising agents which, combined with the polymers, produce a slurry or scrub-coat consistency that’s easily applied by brush or trowel.
When used with Parex FBC bedding mortar, Parex Bond Plus promotes adhesion and complies with or exceeds the adhesion bond strength requirements of the relevant Parts of BS 7533.
The pre-packaged product is ready for on site mixing, only requiring a measured water addition. The resulting mixes have good freeze-thaw stability and are resistant to oil and many chemical environments. Placement thickness may be in the nominal range 1mm to 2mm.
Uses include: Bonding agent for laying all sizes of paving units.

Instructions for Use
Preparation
Contact surfaces must be sound, clean and provide a good mechanical key. Remove any loose material, laitance, plaster, paint and oily deposits. Small paving units should be dipped in water prior to priming to remove loose materials. Larger sized paving units can be brush applied.
Priming
Prepare a priming scrub coat of Bond Plus Mortar using 3.5- 4.0 litres of water per 20kg bag mix.
Mix the priming scrub coat in a suitable mixing vessel using a slow speed drill and mortar stirrer. Do not mix more than can be applied within the usable time, 45 minutes at 20°C.
Prime the prepared substrate and the under side of the paving units with the Parex Bond Plus Mortar using a brush or trowel so the total applied thickness is 1-2mm.
